Shape requests and answers

What the backend sees and what the client gets: the path, the headers, and the client's own address behind a load balancer. Each guide does one job, in the order the console does it, and ends with a request you send and the answer to expect.

Read in this order

  1. Rewrite the path your backend sees. Strip a prefix from the path and set the Host header before the request reaches the backend.
  2. Set headers on every answer. Put response-rewrite on a route to set, add or remove headers on every answer its clients get.
  3. See each client's own address. Read the client address from the header your load balancer writes.
